Ardour won't load existing sessions or new sessions (paid user)

Hi, I start Jack, then load Ardour 5.12.0, and it gets as far as the screen that asks which session I want to load, but it never actually loads anything. I purged the previous version and reinstalled Ardour a few times but nothing happens. I am using Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS

Please help me troubleshoot this because I am stumped. It was working earlier today, and now it doesn’t. thanks.

  1. Try running in “safe mode” by using the “disable all plugins” button at the bottom the session load dialog.

  2. Try using the ALSA audio/MIDI I/O backend, instead of JACK. You will need to stop JACK for this to work.

  3. Consider joining us on IRC where people can help you in realtime.

Maybe another one of those Ubuntu issues? try to uninstall the csladspa package: sudo dpkg -P csladspa
