Hi all
Today new updates came to Ubuntu 18.10
after restarting the computer, Ardor 5.12 no longer starts
A poster warns:
WARNING: Your system has a limit for maximum amount of locked memory. This might cause Ardour to run out of memory before your system runs out of memory.
You can view the memory limit with ‘ulimit -l’, and it is normally controlled by /etc/security/limits.conf
Is it possible to solve it?
Ubuntu 18.10 is powered a systemd
I’m a bit lost
sorry my bad english

The memory limit is only a warning and not a fatal issue. Ardour will start regardless. There should be an actual error message after that.
A short in the dark: try uninstalling the csladspa package: sudo dpkg -P csladspa
– That is a known Ubuntu issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/csound/+bug/1754944 ; see also
Hello everyone,
I am just getting started with Ubuntu and sound recording. My problem is a very basic one and I am sorry if this has already been asked several million times before but I cannot launch Arbour.
The program gets as far as the project window but, having located where I want to save the project, when I press “start”, nothing happens.
I have tried (apt-get) updating, fixing and reinstalling the program - all to no avail - and I am now a bit lost.
If anyone could point me in the ri…
I can’t run Ardour5 in Ubuntu Studio 17.10. I get this error:
ardour-5.11.0 assert failure:***Error in `/usr/lib/ardour5/ardour-5.11.0’:free():invalid pointer:0x00007ffc98788b62 **
I’m running Cadence for Jack configuration. It was fine in 16.04 on this machine.
Anyone else got problems with this?

Thank you Robin
I looking in a partition of another computer
check for some reason the file
“/etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf”
had disappeared
copy and paste the file solved the problem
