Continuing the discussion from Audio Warp in Ardour:
Sorry to bring this up again. I looked after this function several times now, and at the moment I’m in need of it again for a live recorded string section without the use of a metronome.
The previous discussion about the stretch tool and the implementation of left side stretching made me think this could be taken one step further to automate the proces of:
- Cut the region at the playhead
- Stretch right side of left portion to desired beat marker
- Stretch left side of right portion to that same beat marker
So basically it would involve placing temporary markers on the region, drag them to the desired places (where the audio waveform only graphically scales along) and then the user can let the destructive action take place where all originally placed markers are being used to cut the region in portions, which then get stretched (each left and right side) to the desired positions. One could choose to combine the region portions after the action.
