Ardours 9.5 new pianoroll window is jumping down everytime you click in this separate window on the midi region name.
When the window reaches the bottom of the monitor screen it moves a little bit to the right each time you click on the midi region’s name.
right click on midi region > selected regions > edit in separate window ( pianoroll window opens on left top on the monitor screen ).
click in this pianoroll window on the name of the midi region, the button right to the active region / all regions.
Per click the window jumps down a little bit until it reaches bottom of the monitor screen.
Before posting on Mantis I want to ask if other users also have this weird behaviour.
It’s just a function of whether, when told to move a window to (x,y) on the screen, the WM puts the upper left corner of the window itself at (x,y) or the upper left corner of the window-with-any-decoration at (x,y).
There is a specification for this, but window managers do not all agree to follow it (for reasons unknown).
Monitor resolution is the native 2560 x 1440.
In Debian 13 - KDE (X11) System settings > Display and Monitor > display Configuration > Global Scale = 100%.
Yes in Ardour I’m using UI scaling, but when changing UI scale back from 80% to 100% scale, behaviour ( jumping Separate window and moving to the right when at bottom monitorscreen ) is still the same.
If I can be helpfull, please feel free to ask additional things about my system !
Thanks to Paul for the window manager explanation above.
