Yet another Video / Live performance recorded and mixed with Ardour

Here’s another one: https://youtu.be/rPB85NNTyAY

This was recorded via a Soundcraft Impact Console that I used as a USB audio interface together with Ardour on my laptop (running kxStudio 16.04). The mic is a cheap AKG D5 and guitar sound is from the magnetic pickup. I copied the Ardour project to my desktop machine and threw some EQing (x42EQ), compression (Voxengo Voxformer, Harrison XT-LC), reverb (IR.LV2 / M7 impulse responses) and a little bit of mastering (Harrison XT-MC, Voxengo Elephant) at it.

Despite of all the editing, this guy simply has a great voice. Which is more important than everything else in the signal chain. More recently I recorded a Baritone + Piano performance in that place with related tool chain… stay tuned in this thread.

Video editing as usual done in Lightworks on the same OS.

That guitar sound is really impeccable. The bass end is tight, and the reverb is literally just enough. Not distracting, barely noticeable but impactful nonetheless. Nicely done. Thank you for sharing!
