I have a project with 3 audio tracks. End marker placed at 00:04:22:17. When I go to Export – it doesn’t matter if it’s “quick export” or “export to audio file(s)” – the length is said to be 00:06:00:13, while the time span end correspond with the end marker.
When I do the export, I get this message:
The export still works, but the result is 00:06:00:13, and therefore with a lot of silence in the end.
What can be the reason for this? No other projects, stored on the same disk, act like this, and the length always correspond with the end marker and time span end.
What I’ve tried so far, is to restore the project, and remove tracks I didn’t need for the export (I used to have some muted track). I also tried to move the end marker to different places.
Sure.
There’s also a detail I forgot to mention: If it’s the first time I try to export, after opening the project, I don’t get the disk reading message. But the exported file is very small, is unplayable, and has the same, wrong length.
Guessing by that screenshot, I would say your start marker might need to be drug forward or back just slightly. Or you can manually edit it in the locations window if I remember correctly and send it to 00:00:0 0.00
Ah! The start marker was set to minus something. I wonder how that happened. I somehow managed to reset it in the location window, and after that, the export works as expected.
The start marker was prior to the audio, but the silence was at the end of the exported audio? Or the silence was at the beginning?
Was the start marker actually approximately 1:30 prior to the beginning of the audio? Just wondering if there are separate bugs, or if that explains it, i.e. the start marker was 1:30 before the audio began, and the extra silence was all at the beginning of the exported audio.
I think the bug was something causing the start marker to have an invalid position in general, though it equated to something like a minute before hand when exporting, which doesn’t line up to the position in the screenshot above. Thus multiple unspecified behaviors.
Before I created this topic, I thought I had problems getting the “Go to start of session”-button working with multiple projects, but when I checked again, it was only the project I talk about in this topic. And it was fixed when I set the start location to 00:00:00.
Now, I just opened an old project – one of the projects where I previously checked if the “Go to start of session”-button was working – and I find it’s not working anymore. The reason was that the start location somehow have changed to -00:00:00. When I remove the minus, it works again.
It seems like there is something strange going on here.
