Moin,
after doing some research on the net, I have often read about audio to midi converters. Is there a possibility in Ardour to send e.g. an audio file of a kick drum to a plugin that then writes a midi track?
I don’t know… Maybe that’s a crazy idea. I wanted to put bass tones on the kick simultaneously.
Thank you SpotlightKid for your recommendations of plugs. I am delighted to have been rewarded with success after some fiddling. The result fully meets my hopes of being able to do something like this.
However, I would like to ask you what the red connection between “Onset Trigger and Yoshimi” is all about. Is this an indication of a setting to be optimized in the Onset Trigger?
It was pointed out on GitHub that Onset Trigger is still under development. I think there is already a lot going on. I’ll have a look at how it works with tonal stories.
@Chris ccaudle Yes good, that calms me down a bit;)
You’re on Windows right? If you just want to add a sub tone to your kick to beef it up there are also a few good self-contained easy ones available.

On Windows for full on Drum Replacement XLN Audio Addictive Trigger is unbeatable, XLN has good sales pretty regularly. (Also works with yabridge on Linux)
Yes, my Fireface UC only gets support in Windows. I have a dual boot system with AV-MX 21.3 Linux and an acceptable audio chip on the board with which I can try out various things under Linux.
I will look at your recommendations later. At the moment I’m still playing with the “Onset Trigger” settings to find out how the parameters deal with the bleed in the instrument track. In any case, I will extend the midi notes to an accompanying bass line.
