I don’t really know how the things work, it’s my monkey experiments. Yes, by default, when you add a new midi track this uses a “Generic” midi map. When you add a custom “.midnam” file to the mentioned folder, Ardour begins to add a custom map to the list. Simply in Ardour (relatively to Carla) I found the easiest way to manage CCs with typical numbers (1, 2, 3…) instead of Generic names (Modulation Wheel or Level, Breath controller, Undefined… - easy to mix up), which are displayed at the controller track header.
yes, i can figure out a little bit by moving knobs on synth/plugin and checking the corresponding parameter that moves while playing with the knob and assign that to cc control. thanx anyways. ill definitely check out this file you gave me and play with it.
i installed the same carla win bridges on my main PC, configured wine and carla same as i configured on my laptop but unable to load windows plugins 
carla as standalone
carla inside ardour as a plugin
Check and try the “kxstudio-meta-wine” is installed
(An old video about meldaproduction plugins usage through the wine. At the time-point 3.03 the author recommends to install through the synaptic manager.)
I always install the kxstudio default meta packages and all things work (I’m not a specialist in wine separately)

and also i found that its not just windows plugins that im unable to load in carla any native linux plugin gives same error can’t load so it must be something related to some missing library or something with the audio driver.
My apologies, I din’t ever test arch… :(. May be FalkTX (author of Carla) could give any advice… But recently I can’t find him in https://linuxmusicians.com/ (looks like he deleted his account).

yes, actually I came to know about ardour from unfa…
I use LinVST. Not so easy to install on my old kxStudio/Kubuntu 16.04. However, my essential Voxengo plugins (Win VST) run rock solid with it. Also I use it with TDR Nova. For me, this was an essential step. There are plenty of native plugins, but to my ears, Voxengo Elephant is still unmatched, and so is Voxengo Voxformer. (Plus, they got some neat freeware stuff that also works well.)
However, there are some Win VSTs that are and will be hard to install. E.g. the excellent stuff from WAVES can only be installed with its own special installer for Windows which I didn’t get to work. Which is sad, because they really got some of the most professional sounding tools out there. (I sometimes get to use a MaxBCL hardware unit which one of the bands I mix rents on occasion… too expensive to buy.)
can’t get it working on my main pc tried different distro ubuntu and all. installed everything exactly same that i have on my laptop can’t get windows plugins to open up. even though same setup i did on laptop it works. can’t figure it out can’t find anything on internet. im done. last 3-4 days i spent troubleshooting this. i can’t aymore
