I’ve been editing an automation lane (sustain in a MIDI track). All of a sudden for no reason I can discern, I can no longer move events left or right. I can move them up & down, but when I try to drag an event to the right, it doesn’t move, and when I try to drag an event to the left, it snaps all the way to the previous event. (Snap is turned off.)
When this first happened, eventually I discovered that I could fix the problem by extending the clip to the left, which revealed automation events I no longer needed. After deleting them and trimming the clip back to where it was, the problem went away.
Now it’s happening again, and that trick no longer works. I’ve tried moving the clip within the track, moving it to another track, copying it, splitting it, but nothing helps.
Can anyone tell me what this weird state my automation is in, and how I can fix it?

I am not sure, but i might remember i had some similar situation and changing the editor mode from “e” to “g” was helping.
