Which FFmpeg does Ardour use when exporting

The subject asks the question. Since ffmpeg-harvid is included with Ardour, does it use this when exporting audio, or only video preview/sync? I build my own FFmpeg which includes Whisper. How can I use this to export audio and a text file as separate files from within Ardour? I would not necessarily use this for singing vocals (but could be if desired I guess), but more for spoken voice recordings. This could also potentially be used for creating closed captions as well perhaps.

Ardour comes with ffmpeg-5, which is used for extracting audio from video files and video export. It can also be used to encode mp3.

Since ffmpeg commandline option interface changes frequently, recent ffmpeg-8 is not directly supported for video en/decode.

You can export a WAV file and then post-process it using ffmpeg. See “Post Export” at The Ardour Manual - Export Format Profiles

Some users use a custom mp3 encoder there (e.g. lame -b320 %f)
