Today I was just trying to download more .sf2 files from https://sites.google.com/site/soundfonts4u/home as this is my go to website for .sf2 soundfonts, but then the website doesn’t exist anymore, do you guys recommend other websites that I can download sf2 files from or is the website not actually gone?

FYI, this one is included with Ardour as ‘General MIDI Synth’ MIDI instrument.

I’m not sure why you would need more than one (or maybe two or three) General MIDI soundfonts. Find a good one and use it (and the one included with Ardour is already very good). If some of the sounds in it are lacking, you probably won’t find significantly better ones in other GM soundfonts, but should look for specialised libraries for that type of sound instead.
Also, as a rule of thumb, soundfonts tend to be based on older, smaller samples and thus not be of the highest quality and often of unclear origins. There are exceptions, I know.
Assuming you are not out just for GM soundfont here is an excerpt from my bookmarks;
