Voices singing a text

Hi,
it is known that simulating a voice (female or male) singing the vowels (ahh, ohh, etc) is possible. We also know that it is possible to simulate a voice that *reads * a written text.
But … I would like to know if there is a (free) plugin where a written text can be sung by a male or female voice, solo or in chorus in various textures, in a realistic way.
In input could be inserted the melody in MIDI format and a written text aligned to each note.

Yes, the most famous one is Vocaloid, which the tech behind the voice of Hatsune Miku.

Since then there are plenty - search the web for “singing voice synth”, I’m however not aware of any free/libre software synth that runs on GNU/Linux.

There’s Synthesizer V from Dreamtonics: Synthesizer V | Dreamtonics株式会社
Free as in gratis and runs on Linux. It’s a standalone program though, not a plugin.
