Hello,
I’m trying to use Ardour and even if I’m far from making decent tracks I am currently learning a lot!
I thought the demo version was supposed to go silent mode every 10 minutes.
But in my case after a few minutes of Ardour usage, the silent pop-up appears approximately every minute! And sometimes (when I’m occupied with another application window) even if I click on the “give me more time” button when I get back to the Ardour window, the application remains in silent mode so I have no other choice than to close and reopen the session.
I couldn’t find any other report of this problem. Has somebody noticed something like that? Or has an idea of what may cause this issue?
I installed the “ready-to-run” Ardour 8.12 from the official website. I’m on Linux Mint based on a 22.04 Ubuntu. The only plugin I use for now is ZynAddSubFX.
And sometimes (when I’m occupied with another application window) even if I click on the “give me more time” button when I get back to the Ardour window, the application remains in silent mode so I have no other choice than to close and reopen the session.
I discovered that this behavior was caused by the demo version of the ZynAddSubFX plugin (ZynAddSubFX 3.0.x Demo).
Yes, the free/demo prebuilt version of Ardour never goes completely silent. The final “working time” is 1 minute, which you could theoretically keep resetting forever.
