Usb-3 class complicance - what does it mean in Linux?

RME just announced this, and does that mean good or bad or indifferent things for the linux world?

The first question I would have is whether the devices will always drop back to class compliant mode if needed, or if there is a possibility that you have to connect to a Mac and use their control software to get into class compliant mode for use with Linux.

Other than that the availability of proprietary Mac OS drivers should have no bearing on Linux use, the ALSA driver will still be usb-snd which expects class compliant behavior.
