When I create a new MIDI or audio track, Ardour assigns the next available port to it. Is there a way to tell Ardour not to do this? It’s not a big deal to remove this assignment when connecting the desired port, but it would make for a smoother session flow if I didn’t have to do this. These automatic connections are never the ones I need. Thanks.
Yes you can change this in
Ardour Edit > Preferences > Signal Flow > Track and Bus Connections
set Connect track inputs … manually
