Finally getting a bit of time to play around with Ardour again… But I keep making the same error of copying/pasting clips or duplicating tracks, then not remembering they are linked… Before I know it, I have undone all the work I had made previously by all parts linking together as I edit one of them.
Dont think I have ever found the need for parts or tracks to be linked, I am always (if I remember in time) unlinking them…
So, is there a setting, or a button I can press to stop these parts linking by default? Woud save me many hours of lost work if I could do this…
Ah Zelv… thank you… My version (5.12) is a bit opposite, says ‘Midi regions are independent’ and I have to check it. But wow, wish I had known about that some time ago, only looked in preferences before… Also a big long button at the bottom that says ‘Use these settings as defaults’…
Feels like its xmas again…!!
