Ubuntu 20.04+ardour 5 not showing my midi keyboard

I have my roland keyboard connected on Ubuntu 20.04 with Ardour 5.12 (rev 1:5.12.0-3ubuntu4)Intel 64-bit
I have always used direct ALSA connections, no Jack.
It has been working, then one day, the keyboard is gone from the midi connections, the keyboard is there in the system lsusb, it shows in qjackctl, it shows in amidiplay -l, it is there in the system apparently, but it just stop showing up in ardour. i tried restarting many many times, to make sure the hardware is up and running on boot, or otherwise, but no luck.

Anybody had similar experience?

Ardour 5.12 should be considered obsolete at this point. Grab a free/demo build from Get Ardour | ardour and see if that has the same issues.
