I am having no luck getting my Mackie Control Universal to play with Mixbus. I searched all over and did all the steps that were given, but still no luck. Obviously I’m doing something wrong. Here’s what I’ve done so far:
Downloaded MIDI Patchbay
Opened Mixbus
Set up MIDI Patchbay: DIGI002 Port 1 to MCU In
DIGI002 Port 2 to MCU Out
In Mixbus Preferences set MCU to online
Set Mixbus Control Surface to Mackie
Nothing happens. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I set the Mackie Control to Mackie Control mode, Logic Mode, HUI mode… nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Heh short answer is, I (And John the original author of the logic control code) didn’t/don’t have an extender to test with, that is why it likely doesn’t work. The code John wrote I think was originally set up to support it, but with no way of testing it was a little difficult to be sure it worked. Someone else asked about similar functionality earlier, I should really dig into the code again soon and see about adding that(And reworking a few things along with other added functionality). Believe it or not you I believe are the first person to actually own an extender that has Mixbus or Ardour to my knowledge, of course since I don’t work for Harrison I could be at a disadvantage in knowing, it seems most people only using the 8 faders at a time surprisingly.

After putting in on Logic control as you said I figured out the other problem. Both input and output ports should’ve been DIGI002 Port 1 in MIDI Patchbay. Now it works fine. But, of course, I have another problem. Is there a way to run the Mackie Control and an Extender? When I try to run the Extender it only mirrors what the Control is doing and no information shows up on the display. Here’s what I tried with the Extender:
IN MIDI Patchbay create a path that goes USB UNO Interface to MCU out
MCU out the USB UNO interface
Click Mackie in Control Suface
The Control works fine, but the Extender doesn’t do anything independent of the Control. I’m guessing it’s because they’re both going in on the MCU in and out? Is there another path I can use for the Extender?
First you are going to want the Mackie in Logic mode for the record. Secondly, can you open up Console.app(Applications>Utilities>Console.app), press CLEAR then go thorugh your steps above, copy and paste the results on the Console to here surrounded by PRE tags so I can read them? Thanks.
