is there a way of locking audio tracks to the grid so they automatically change when you adjust the bpm
No not at this time.

When I was working on Reaper I found it very useful to be able to change a tracks reference from time to the the BPM of the project so it would track with the project BPM whenever I changed it regardless of whether it was MIDI or audio. This was particularly so when I did remixes or reedits of tracks. Is there a workaround or methodology I can employ in Ardour to effect something similar or even make it less necessary? I could be missing something if nobody else feels this need. Thanks.
I am pursuing this because I love Ardour and I’m trying to avoid anything that will may force me back to another DAW!
So far the only option is to manually time-stretch the audio regions;
snap-to-grid can help there to some extent.
