It is fixed since 6.0.38, but the GUI still limits the channel-count and channel-mapping for default export. Stem export does no have this limitation.
I guess it can make sense if you export productions for a dedicated acousmonium, that is not very common however. In most cases one exports raw data that can then later be mapped on various playback systems.
