I’ve been working on a proper Totalmix replacement on Linux for RME’s latter firewire interfaces 802 and UCX, it’s working quite well now so if anyone is interested here is the repository:

Nice, so this has the full DSP support as well then?
Will this work, or can it be expanded for devices outside of the FF/UCX family? Don’t own one myself other than an old HDSP but always curious to keep my options open.

Yes the DSP works so far with minor issues (some hardware state oddities I haven’t completely understood yet; EDIT: I seem to have sorted it out now), it certainly works for my studio use. I’m only targetting the firewire devices as it’s what I use, extending would be theoretically possible but would require significant work since this is all based on the specifics of the snd-fireface alsa backend.

Really great work, I appreciate it. I use the UFX+ device. I hope that someone clever would create a solution for it.
