this is a problem i now have run into on several occasions. Basic Problem: Long Region (i talking hours) needs to change a few ms to sync to e.g. footage, another audio track ect.
Yes proper clocking on recording would be the preferred solution but that’s not always possible. Be it because of budget or material limitations or merely because we do not control recording (working with archival material ect.).
In this installment i try to add an audio track from a different source to a newer High-Res Film Scan that is missing that track.
Following behavior observed while using the stretch tool so far:

activate stretch tool → click on region → Stretch Dialog opens → enter numerical values → stretch = nothing happens

activate stretch tool → click and drag along region so it becomes green highlighted → stretch Dialog opens with entropy value in the input fields for dragging at the current zoom level is extremely inaccurate → enter numerical values after remembering and calculating timecodes in your head or external calculator → stretch = it stretches but timing is quite off the charts (i guess that timecode gets calculated into a percent Value and this is then used to actually stretch, so minimum stretch is 100.001 when i would need something more accurate like 100.00032)

activate stretch tool → click and drag along region so it becomes green highlighted → no highlighting possible → i need to drag from left to right only this time otherwise it just wont highlight the region
What i want to do / Workflow suggestion:
rightclick region → stretch → input any positiv or negativ amount of ms / bars / time / samples or percent and select stretching mode for that the region then will become longer or shorter. A Checkbox to create a duplicate region with the stretch applied (and represented in region name) on top of the original region would be a welcome addition.
curious to hear your thoughts on this - am i just getting it all wrong?
