THIS IS A ROCK’N’ROLL SONG.
THEREFORE, IT SHOULD BE PLAYED LOUD.

Duly noted :metal:

A good solid fun jangly rock sing-along. Nice one, Fineweather…! I’m a big fan of the guitar tones, especially the solo / lead guitar (even though I’m not a big solo guitar man myself). The vocal is likewise well-performed, dynamic and colourful.

I don’t wanna draw comparisons to Oasis because that’d just be offensive plus this isn’t anything like Oasis… BUT - there’s this “fuck you, have some distorted open chords” type energy that early Oasis had and that is to be respected, absolutely.

I love the way it kinda drops out but then slides back into the tune at around 5:00. And there’s generally just this cool underlying punk vibe that’s missing from a lot of modern music that I come across and I really really like that :+1:

Man you just made my day in every respect, even, or should I say particularly with that Oasis reference. I wouldn’t be offended at all if there was any comparison, because I truly admire them, albeit not so much what they’re doing right now. Hell yeah, screech out some open chords 'cause it feels great man, it feels great! The VOXes do a thourough job, don’t they.

I hate show-offs and I wouldn’t want to be one. That being said, I’ve been doing this roughly as long as NG (IMHO the second-best songwriter after Paul McCartney****), and when Oasis appeared on the scene I went “f*ck me, that’s quite the sound I was looking for, and now someone else is doing it! Ah well, let’s be happy for them…”.

Anyway, thank you Sir! Funny you should mention the underlying punk attitude, 'cause the opening riff after “do not despair” is the one from “New Rose” by The Damned reversed. I’m a fan of them as well, as I’m of the whole late 70s - mid 80s Punk scene. Happy days… On the other hand, I hold the four Big Bs in high regard: Bach, Beethoven, Bartók, Beatles!

Have a lovely first Advent, I’m looking forward to your next release. The fact that your current one isn’t exactly my cup of tea musically doesn’t mean much really. It’s the endeavour itself that counts and trying not to be a TWOT like, for instance, ABBA, ugh!

**** = I know many, probably you, too, will find this debatable to say the very least. I admit it may be only
true for the galaxy in which the planet is orbitting that I live on :slightly_smiling_face:

Na exactly, relax man it’s all good :metal: courses for horses and all that. Everyone’s tastes are different yet that doesn’t mean people can’t listen to, and give feedback for, others’ music. I like finding positive things to say about music that isn’t my kettle of fish, actually.

:sunglasses:

:metal: Keep at it, yous have got a good thing going on there and I think the Vox amp usage is honestly just boss and deffo suits the music :metal: so nice one again.

Neither am I, plus I’m a lazy sod, I never practice. That is, I do while conceiving a solo for the song,
which can be quite punishing… still, it’s not about being a virtuoso but serving the song. That I very much like to do.

Yeah, I have to admit it’s getting better…

Thanks for the encouragement, it’s very, very much appreciated!

…rather a topic for the OpenShot forum, but I thought I’d mention it for those who might be interested that there’s a video now on YouTube:
