Recently we set up and recorded a rehearsal of 8 of our original songs for posterity and I put together a little film and put it on YouTube. This was recorded on a Zoom LiveTrak L-20, mixed in Mixbus 11 (so Ardour-adjacent). The Video was edited in Cinelerra-GG.
Video is here for anyone interested:
*a revised version has been put up, I forgot to remove an unwanted Reverb bus, aside from a slapback delay there are no other post effects on the Audio.
Thanks guys for watching and commenting, much appreciated!
Peter, the guitar on the first track was a bit of a post-production manipulation. I wanted that Leslie guitar sound for the guitar and I have a Strymon Lex guitar pedal that is a pretty good Leslie simulator. The miked amp sound from the performance was a bit too overdriven and didn’t have the natural stereo imaging I wanted. Since we have a working actual Leslie speaker in the Studio where I did the mixdowns I decided to retrack the guitar with our real Leslie for that particular song. Kind of cheating I suppose but I played exactly the same part as the original, just done with a more authentic Leslie sound since one was at hand.
@x42 Haha, good eye… Yes, his actual drumkit he tours with was not here so he made a mongrel kit out of odds and ends from the Studio and storage. A bit of an AVL-Drumkit history exhibit.
side note, that has nothing to do with anything…which of those fellas is Glen? Or is Glen just the guy behind the camera? LOL. Just trying to put a face with the name…
