The Foggy Dew on Tin Whistle and Mandolin

I embarked on tackling some of my old unfinished song projects and I found these recordings I did in 2023 with a BOSS BR-600 digital recorder of “The Foggy Dew” with my Alba high Tin Whistle and a Mandolin.

So I decided to mix the song properly and imported the audio tracks into Ardour and added some bass, kantele and percussion.

So here’s a short and brisk instrumental version of the well-known Irish traditional “The Foggy Dew” (well, the melody is traditional, the most well-known words set to it are actually 20th century).

Great Mix! Nice authentic sounds

Thanks, Glen!

The bass is actually from a Kurzweil PC3K keyboard and the kantele sounds are samples, which I created myself from a Lothar Gärtner Kantele (the type, which is often used in Waldorf schools) and for the bodhran I used pre-recorded loops. But the tin whistle, mandolin, guitar, tambourine and ukulele are “real”
