"The audio backend was shutdown because: ALSA I/O error"

Fedora 23 64bit

Pulseaudio, jack is working. No errors.

Multiple usb devices. I am a member of jackuser and audio.

Ardour 4 rpm from Fedora repos.

After using Ardour for a while, I get the error "The audio backend was shutdown because: ALSA I/O error. "

At this point, I cannot save my work and must shutdown and restart ardour4 completely.

What do I do to fix this?

I even have the following in my 99-realtime.conf

@realtime - rtprio 99
@realtime - memlock unlimited

What to do?

BTW, I can restart it through window audio/midi setup, but it’s still a huge nuisance.

(I guess we can’t edit an existing post?)

Ok, I had to install ardour4-audiobackend-jack-4.4.0-1.fc23.x86_64.

Fixed.
