I would like to propose to the development team a seamless, bidirectional tempo track integration between Ardour and notation software such as MuseScore, specifically tailored for film scoring workflows.
The core idea is to allow exporting the tempo and meter map (including BPM changes and time signature shifts) directly from Ardour once it has been aligned with the imported video. This map can then be loaded into MuseScore to instantly provide the exact measure structure needed for musical composition. Subsequently, when the music written and rendered in MuseScore is imported back into Ardour, it should snap perfectly onto the original tempo track and video reference without grid shifts or unwanted overwrites.
Implementing a streamlined function for exporting and automatically realigning the conductor track would allow film composers to bridge Ardour’s DAW environment with score writing in a fast, accurate, and efficient manner.
