Tempo issues with recording

I’m having some tempo issues, and hoping someone can help me with figuring out what I may be doing wrong. I’ve used ardour for years and never had issues, but this is my first time recording an external sample.

I recorded a loop using an external device(Roland sp404mk2) at 92bpm, 4/4, and tried recording it in ardour with the same settings, but it doesn’t match up properly as shown in the image.

I checked the sample against a metronome on my phone(smartchord) and a metronome on the laptop I’m using ardour on(metronome installed with Ubuntu studio) and both match up perfectly, it seems only ardour is off.

I have tried both audio time, and beat time to see if that would make a difference but to no avail. Does anyone know what could causing this issue?

Sounds like you want a “Bars:Beats” ruler vs the “Mins:Secs” ruler you’re using?

Right-click on “Mins:Secs”, and you’ll get a popup with some other options.

When you say “I have tried both audio time, and beat time”, what do you mean, precisely?

I have tried all the different rulers to see if something would match up, but none of them do, the metronome is what’s not matching up.

By “beat time” “audio time” I just mean the “default time domain” selection when I create a new file.

Edit: I think I figured the issue I was running ardour at 44.1khz sample rate, 48khz(whoch the sp404mk2 runs at) seems to fit properly. I’m not used to using it as my audio interface.
