Hello Community,
I am new to using Ardour on Linux. Previously, I worked with Cubase on Windows.
I own a Tascam Model 12 mixer. It works immediately as an audio interface in Ardour on Linux Mint 22.3. What I am missing, however, is the ability to use the Model 12 as a DAW controller within Ardour.
The Model 12 is running the latest firmware, version 1.50. Ardour is at version 8.4.0~ds1 (rev 8.4.0~ds1-2ubuntu8). This is included as a system package in Linux Mint 22.3.
On the mixer itself, I have enabled “DAW Controller MCU - Cubase.” When I enter the command aconnect -l in the console, the Model 12 appears as follows:
client 20: ‘Model 12’ [type=Kernel,card=1]
0 ‘Model 12 MIDI OUT’ connected to: 131:0 connected from: 130:0
1 ‘Model 12 DAW Control OUT’ connected to: 129:0 connected from: 128:0
In Ardour, I have applied the following settings within the Global Settings:
With this configuration, the Play, Stop, Forward, and Rewind buttons work correctly. However, the faders, as well as the Solo, Mute, and Record buttons, do not function. Can anyone help me identify the correct settings needed to utilize the Model 12 as a fully functional DAW controller?
Thank you in advance!
fion
