That sounded wonderful to me! Nicely done.
Nice one, Ashley
Excellent work. The tune’s brilliant and very well-performed of course but the mix is also fantastic. It’s quite rounded and everything’s in its right place. Love how prominent the bass is and how the airy vocal sits atop everything else.
Personally I think if the master were one or two db less hot it’d be even better still but that’s probably just down to my own tastes rather than anything objective. Don’t want to take anything away from the tune or the mix otherwise because it’s honestly terrific ![]()
Thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately I had to master this one myself (something I wouldn’t normally do), so I’m sure someone else would have done a better job. I suppose I felt some self-imposed pressure to ‘make it loud’ and similar to modern tracks. I didn’t think that I’d gone over the top, but you’re probably right. If I had my way, we’d go back to late 1970s levels of loudness!
Very nice song and a wonderful mix too. Great job on it!
This is cool! Sounds just fantastic! Takes me back to when I listened to acid jazz a lot (Galliano, Brand New Heavies).
thanks for mentioning acid jazz … got me to take a listen … great stuff …
Waow, with such a tune like this, I would say , sorry sorry, that I don’t bother with the mix and the : « it would be nice to cut in 1500hz!!! »!
No !?the song is great by itself, and I like your sayings!!!
( something of the great Tracy Chapman here and there maybe? »
If you go touring with this song, you will find
« on the road » what works the best.
I am really impressed and you have a fan!!!
Best
