[SOLVED] Found this entry Adding a virtual keyboard to Ardour - #3 by cgvirus?
Mentioned a2jmidid. It was already installed on my system and i just started it with a2jmidid -a command in terminal . It created some MIDI input ports in the Jack connection graph and VMPK was there! . Just connected the Ardour MIDI output to this input. VMPK’s own MIDI INPUT setting is empty. Thats all… It worked.
Hello good people,
I recorded a MIDI in Ardour . Now I want VMPK to show the MIDI notes while Ardour plays them. I tried to set “MIDI in” to “MIDI Thru” in VMPK’s own MIDI settings interface , when i did it “VMPK In” port appears in left side of the system MIDI box in Jack graph. Then i connect Ardour MIDI out .(piyano) to that port but VMPK doesnt show the key strokes. I thought Ardour will see that system port as a external device and send the signals to VMPK.
I used to do it in Qtractor before . I know Ardour can do it great as well , what do i miss?
I tried it with Jack Keyboard too.i can use Jack Keyboard , both ok for me. but i couldn’t success on it too.
