First thing: I run Ardour on macOS
So I notice I can’t make drum loops and actively edit the loops as it plays with Ardour and some plugins I tried. Is there a free option I can look into? preferably one that has a wide assortment of drum kits?

I was seeking a way for me to make drum loops before I record it onto Ardour. Just as Keith Suggested, the MT Power Drum kit gave me that.
I think Paul was hinting that there might be a way already baked into Ardour, which there is.
The cue page allows you to add loops (drum loops, chord sequences, and others) onto a grid to create longer sequences. They can also be added to the timeline.
Ardour also comes bundled with a load of content, including drum loops, that can be used with this.

I am aware of the cue page but I didn’t know that. I just be learning as I go
