In Ardour 7, when I set up to snap to timecode, it would snap to the timecode frame without reference to the visible grid. Now in Ardour 8, it snaps to the visible grid, and does not keep the timecode frame granularity that Ardour 7 did when outside the snap region. What setting am I missing that can restore this behavior?
I’ve reset the default time domain to Audio (wallclock) time, and it didn’t make a difference. Zoomed in to where snapping to timecode frame (at 30 fps) is visible but the grid is still at seconds, the clip doesn’t snap.
Addendum to behavior: Ardour 7 actively disallowed me from using less than single-frame granularity when in the snap to timecode frame mode. Ardour 8 allows continuous movement outside of the snap distance. It’s the frame-level granularity (quantized movement) I’m looking for.
