any ideas about a sidechain function in Ardour (maybe I’m just blind)? I remember 0.99.3 saying something like “will be possible in futur versions”.
I’d really like to be able to trigger something with the gate of the bassdrum, or use a gated reverb (haven’t found one yet and would be easy to create via sidechain) and so on.
Any LADSPA plugin that supports a sidechain (and I think some compressors such as SC-4 do), can be used in ardour. Such a plugin is listed as having, for example, 3 inputs for the stereo version. You just add this plugin, then route your keying signal from its own track into the track containing the compression plugin’s third input.
