Shuttle Xpress recognized but doesn't work on Mac

Contour Shuttle Xpress recognized but doesn’t function on Mac.

Recognized in Preferences->Surfaces. Bring up configuration, click button test, press shuttle buttons - no life.
Mapped functions don’t work either.

Hasn’t worked for some time (ever?). Tried installing the Contour Shuttle Mac software which didn’t change anything with respect to Ardour work but did allow me to verify that the Shuttle could control other things.

Does anyone have it working on a Mac and/or might know why mine isn’t working?

In searching about all I could find were issues with device configuration on some flavors of Linux but fix doesn’t seem relevant to MacOS.

Ardor 8.10,
Apple ARM (M1 Max)
MacOS Sonoma 14.7.2
