Setting Up an FLkey for Ardour

This is my first ever MIDI Keyboard and I’m already getting lost trying to set it up. I’ve gotten the keys and pitch bend to work perfectly. The other controls (Mod, Encoder, Pad, Transport etc) are detected but they don’t do anything. So if you guys can offer any advice on how to set something like this up, I would love to hear it

Backstory: The reason I have an FLkey 49 (Pictured) and not a Launchkey is because I don’t live in a country with very good options. This was basically the option available for a 49 Key keyboard not to mention I was in a rush.

My guess is that it has to do with the FLKey’s proprietary firmware that Ardour doesn’t recognize as of right now. On top of that, That’s probably unnecessary with some exceptions.

For DAW controls such as transport stop/play you have to use it as “Control Surface”

Ardour > Preferences > Control Surface.

Since there is no dedicated mapping for the FLkey, you can try “Any > Generic MIDI”,
or you could try if it’s compatible with the Novation product.
