I’ve finally gotten around to seeing how snapshots work, and I’m interested in the ability to branch. But is there a way to view the list so you can see the relationships between them? If I create snaps A and B, and then I add another snap to each branch (A1 and B1), is there a way to know that A1 was created from A other than naming convention?
So far, it looks as though they’re listed alphabetically, so the naming convention would have to be pretty specific in order to keep things straight.
We deliberately do not do anything to support a branching model with snapshots, so if you want that, it would have to be done entirely via your own naming.
We tried a branching undo/redo history years ago, and found that for most of our users it was just way too confusing. I think the same is true of snapshots.
