Session play speed changed?

I am running v2.3 on Ubuntu 8.04. I have been using Ardour over a year now and am very impressed. I have a session I use quite a lot for jamming etc and it has been fine for months. Now when I open it it plays 10% faster than it should - everything having a higher pitch as a result. I would be really gutted if I can’t get it fixed. I know I can manually slow down the play head using the interface, but every time I press play it jumps back.

Is there any way I can get it back to normal? Has anyone else run into this? It happened to me one before but the session was unimportant so I just made a new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Interestingly, if I go to the interchange folder inside the session’s folder, and audio tracks there play at the correct speed.

I’d be willing to bet that you’d recorded with jack running
at 44.1 or 88.2 kHz, and are now playing it back at 48 or
96. Have a quick look at the sample rate you’ve set in Jack…

I’ve never had a problem solved within 10 minutes of posting before! I set jack to 44.1 and its playing perfectly now - thanks!

Good call… must keep that in mind
