Session archiving issue

Hi,
I’m having trouble with archiving. I go session/archive and it creates an archive file without issue. The trouble is that when I try session/open and select the newly created archive file it crashes with the following error:
“Extracting session-archive failed: Error extracting file-archive”

Any help sorting this out would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Reuben

Is this with Ardour 9 or Ardour 8.12?

For both, I just tried updating to Ardour 9 and the issue is still present. i.e. archive using ardour9 and then try to open using ardour 9

Does
file /path/and/name/of/your/ardour-session-archive
say something like “LZMA compressed data, streamed” and does
lzcat /path/and/name/of/your/ardour-session-archive | tar -tvf -
work and spit out a number of .ttl and .flac filenames?

If not, if you get an error of some kind, your archive is corrupt for some reason.
Maybe your disk is full or there’s something else going on.

Archiving and reopening works fine here in Ardour 9.0.11

Hi Peder, thanks for the help. Yes both of those commands work without error. In fact I just tried decompressing from the terminal and then opening in ardour and it worked fine, so it’s not too big a deal. Weird that ardour can’t seem to manage that for me.

Are you using the official binary from the Download page here or did you get your version from some third party?
I’m using a self compiled version.

Not self compiled but downloaded from here today
