Select MIDI notes by channel

Hi all,

In Ardour 9.2, what is the fastest way to select MIDI notes “by channel” from the Timeline view?
(I mean in the same MIDI region where the notes are assigned to different channels)

When you open a MIDI region in the pianoroll window or the bottom editor, there’s a channel selector in the toolbar. It controls two things: 1) what notes are rendered as active, 2) what notes you can ruberband-select.

Supposing your notes of interest are all on Ch2. Switch from Ch1 to Ch2, zoom out enough to see the entire region and spot “active” notes (notes on other channels will be paler and non-selectable), then rubberband-select.

Ok, so you have to work on the piano roll, it’s a bit cumbersome, but it works. IMHO a command like “Select by channel” in the Edit->Select menu would be useful, without having to open the piano roll and resize it to view the entire region.
