Second MIDI Track Won't Accept Input

I’m using Ardour8 with a Yamaha P85 piano for MIDI recording and playback (no synth). The first track works fine. I can record MIDI and play it back on the keyboard. A second track won’t accept input from the piano. The input/output MIDI connections appear to be identical in Ardour on both tracks. Why won’t Track 2 accept input just like Track 1?

Are you certain? That’d be the only explanation I can think of.

By default Ardour has Preferences > MIDI > MIDI input follows MIDI track selection enabled. perhaps that results in the 2nd track being disconnected?

Can you make a screenshot of the mixer window with the two MIDI tracks? That may shed some light.

You are correct. That box is checked. I’ll see if I can create an image of the mixer window.
