Search for a term in Zyn

Hi all,
in ZynAddSubFX the “search” function doesn’t work, you can’t write anything in the “search” field. Does it happen to anyone else too?
[Ardour 7.4 on linux]

Thanks,
a.

Amazing, I found that if I run the file:

/usr/bin/zynaddsubfx (application/x-executable)

the Zyn GUI opens and the “Search” function works.
But opening it from inside Ardour, “Search” doesn’t work.

So if for example I want to find all the “Kick” present in Zyn, I have to open the executable from that path and look for it there.

Have you enabled keyboard focus for the plugin? There is a toggle top-right in every plugin window (displays a PC keyboard). By default keyboard events are handled by Ardour.

Yes, but it still doesn’t work.
Since nobody talks about it, I think it’s a problem with my own system.

Odd. It works here with zyn-fusion LV2 plugin.

Are you perhaps using the VST2?

Yes, I use ZynAddSubFX VST2.

Is there a reason for that? Why not use the LV2, which is generally preferable over VST2.

I didn’t know that, I thought the opposite
Now I installed the LV2 and as you said it works correctly.
Thank you,
a.

heh.

Ardour’s implementation of LV2 and VST3 are pretty much on par.

VST2 was never officially spec’ed for Linux, it’s a bit of a miracle that it works at all
