Most reverb plugins I drag into my mono track make it a stereo track! Any one knows a good reverber which keeps the channel-number as is?
Given that reverb is generally use to add some sort of “space” to a signal, that’s pretty hard to do with only a single channel …
I am in search of a simpler hall/echo, not creating a “space”
Echo you can do trivially on a mono channel; “hall” not so much … the sense of a “hall” relies on (at least) stereo elements …
How could I add an echo to my mono track?
Ardour’s built-in “ACE Delay” is a mono delay

Harrison XT-Verb comes with a mono version.
OR
Put your fave verb into a mono track and then use the ACE cross-fade plugin after the verb to bring it back to mono out. Make sure “Strict I/O” is off and the output of the track will adjust to mono:
