Just a session i did in one go, with the simple idea to use a few audio-snippets from a theater piece of S. Beckett. And a few other small ideas.
You can’t go wrong with Beckett!
Great, I like it very much, particularly the way the off-beat rythm section compliments the undercurrent of insanity. Hieronymus Bosch and Captain Beefheart came to my mind while listening, you’re in good company. It quickly becomes quite a Rollercoaster ride. The coice of quotes certainly adds to that atmosphere.
The original performance is relentless and haunting, gosh… and your excerpt is something quite as intruiging, well done indeed, this plays in a league of its own. Quite an achievement for one go! Pity I’m late for the party.
Creating sound collages can be utterly rewarding. I like to insert snippets or sometimes even larger portions of other artist’s works in my songs myself, to comment on their subject or as an ironic break.
I’ve been asking myself for some time now when they’ll come for me because of copyright infringement regardless of my disclaimers that I merely express my admiration for the respective artists by quoting them…
