Hi all,
when I rename an Ardour project, close and then reopen it, in all the tracks with the “sfizz” plugin the references to the .sfz files are lost, so I have to reload them all one by one in sfizz, track by track… there is a reason?

Yes, if you were using the LV2 version of sfizz, very probably that you were using 8.1., not the latest version. I seem to remember there were some fixes to the LV2 path parameter handling in between.
Have you tried the VST3 version of sfizz?
In that project I renamed, I used the .lv2 version of sfizz.
So I’ll try the .VST3 version.
In general I don’t know whether to use the .lv2 or VST3 version of a plugin. For example with the Vitalium plugin, the .VST3 version crashes, but the .lv2 version works fine.

There is no rule. It depends on mostly on the plugin which versions works better or whether it makes no practical difference. It is something you have to test for each plugin.
Personally, I prefer to use the LV2 version, if available and it works ok.
A short note:
using the VST3 version of sfizz, I notice that when I open it, it stays frozen for about 3 minutes, after which I can start using it, upload my files and it works fine.
This problem does not exist in the lv2 version of sfizz.
