"Redeeming Failures" by On The Count of e

Hi all,

For the past year or so I have been recording a complete album in Ardour on Gentoo Linux, with all of the instrumentation and production being done exclusively in Ardour.

I’ve been using a plethora of LV2 and VST3 plugins too (most of them open source, a few purchased such as Piantoteq).

The website is https://www.count-of-e.com/ and I’ve put up a HearNow page for streaming links: https://onthecountofe.hearnow.com/

I’d like to give a big thanks to the developers and the community for making and supporting Ardour which made this all possible with a quality I’m more than happy with.

wut no bandcamp ?? :smiling_face_with_tear:

Well I suppose now I have to get on the Bandcamp bandwagon too :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m a not very good and extremely unknown ambient creator (or was a couple of years ago). I don’t care about audience, because that’s always going to be tiny, but getting paid some symbolic amount felt pretty nice. I made more from my 1 bandcamp release than anyone I know has made from streaming.

Of course, if you insist on “going where the audience is” then you’re going to focus on streaming services, but I find that unconscionable.

Not really my style of music, but production sounds clear, dramatic and clean to my (old) ears.

I’ll definitely check out Bandcamp. Thank you for listening, and thank you for Ardour!
