recordings disappear?

Yes, this topic is old, but problem still here… for me!

I am testing version 8.4… I recorded a short MIDI, then I went to do other things, and also checked this site.
I went back to Ardour - still opened! - and doubled the track - testing system CPU etc. on older PC.
Then I play, no sound - que?

I checked and there is no MIDI notes any more. No undo - in case something was mistakenly undone, just empty track!

:astonished:

PS I am a Bitwig user, but I like to explore… other DAWs

That is odd. The issue was fixed years ago!

She you said “doubled the track” have you duplicated it and used a new playlist? could it be that the MIDI data is still there in another playlist of the original Track (and as .mid file in the session folder)?

No problems, I was testing, but… mmm

It may be a one off.

Unless I inadvertently caused a Undo, via keyboard. I am a keyboard guy and I do not even know if there is a undo via keyb, although I checked Edit/Redo/Undo there was no redo !

Yes, I found MIDI file’s’ within project folder name/interchange/foldername/midifiles.
AT least they stay there - GOOD !

Strange thing now, i re-opened the same file and MIDI files are there!
Anyway, within the MIDI files folder there were 8x 26 bytes files.

Just to inform what went on.

No problems
