Yesterday i had some issues with exporting stems. (Some latency compensation issue)
To avoid that i tried using realtime export as i did not have that issue when playing back normally.
I noticed that the seconds displayed were running faster then actual seconds. So i tried to use an insert on a track which was routed to itself. Now i exported the stems and it worked perfectly. Is there any reason behind not allowing realtime export when not having inserts? I mean you should have the time to wait when choosing to export realtime.
Seems like a programming error. What version of ardour?
Inserts only work with realtime export.
The default freewheel (offline) export runs as fast as possible, but as slow as necessary.
External hardware cannot run faster, nor slower than wall-clock time. So inserts are not available during offline export.
Can you double check that this was enabled for the given time-range: The RT column checkbox on the left side in the export dialog (here for range “02 Waves”)
Toggling the checkbutton at the top may or may no assign al ranges, depending on selection.
The presence of inserts has no effect on export settings.
I did back then. But now i can not reproduce this. Every RT-Export works as it should. Weird. It happened on two projects that day.
