Sorry if this issue has been brought up before, it’s difficult to search for “Zoom”, since that’s a common workflow activity and not just a conference call software…
So, the issue at hand is when I share my screen in Zoom conference calls. All software I’ve tried except Ardour acts normally in that scenario, but Ardour stops reacting normally to controls, which makes it difficult to properly go over sessions with others watching/participating. Normally it will allow me to do one function normally, like zooming in, scrolling, doing a stem cut/split or something, and then stop reacting to the next one. I can still open plugins connected to a channel strip or bus, and those all function normally (they have their own GUIs/windows…), but anything in the actual Ardour workflow stops reacting, and I have to move the window to another screen not being shared to do that function, then move it back, which isn’t very efficient.
However it seems like if I share control to my desktop, those assuming control can work normally in it, but I can’t myself…
This has been an issue for as long as I’ve used Ardour, and is still an issue in the latest stable Windows release.
Have anyone else experienced this and know about any workarounds? I read somewhere about “global shortcuts” in Zoom and have tried to disable them, without luck, but I might not have found the right control.
