Pro tools tracks

Can I import track produced in protools into ardour and edit them?

if you export them from PT as BWF files, sure. ardour will even put them at the correct timestamp. BTW, stem mixes using Broadcast WAVE files (BWF) is the most common method of moving sessions between many combinations of DAWs, not just PT and Ardour.

Is BWF a default export option from protools?

One way to do this is to use the ‘consolidate tracks’ function in pro tools, and set the range to be the length of the entire song.

This gives you a load of new files, one for each track. You don’t have to worry about time stamps or BWF, as the tracks all start at the same time and are thus in sync.
